As part of measures to find a lasting solution to the problem of herders/farmers clashes in Ogun State, herders must obey the laws and regulations of the state.
The government also directed the local governments affected by the problem to begin census of herders in order to know the people living together in the areas.
The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Barr. Taiwo Adeoluwa made this disclosure at a news conference at the instance of the Governor Ibikunle Amosun after the States’ Security Council meeting yesterday.
“Also, the council directs our Baales (community heads) to be more alert and responsive to their communities and watch over their domains. The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs has been directed to carry out census of the councils identified.
“They include Yewa North, Obafemi Owode, Ijebu Odeda and Odeda with Yewa North having been identified as the hardest hit of the crisis,” Adeoluwa said.
