The police in Kogi have arrested three suspected cattle rustlers and recovered 100 stolen cows from them.
The command spokesman, Williams Ayah, said the incident happened at Ihima in Okehi local government of the state.
He said one Ahmadu Aliyu of Fulani Camp, Ihima, reported at the Okehi Police Division that at about 11pm on January 21, some men attacked his camp and made away with his cows numbering 100.
According to the complainant, the unknown men had earlier tied one Mohammed Lawal, the rearer of the cattle before rustling 100 cows out of the herd.
He said the police in collaboration with local hunters launched a manhunt which led to the arrest of three suspects and recovery of the cows.
Those arrested, according to him, included Bala Yusuf Bala, Mohammed Lawal and Musa Haruna.
He said the cows recovered have been temporarily released to the owner while the suspects now in police custody would be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.
