Kaduna refuse collectors protest non-payment of salary

Refuse collectors working in Barnawa, an area in Kaduna South local government area of the state yesterday staged a protest, expressing anger over non-payment of their salaries for five months.
The protesting refuse collectors expressed anger by blocking the main road in the area with heaps of refuse, thereby interrupting the free flow of traffic.
Speaking to DailyTrust, the Assistant Youth leader of Barnawa ward 2, Bala Onaja stated that for the past five months, they had not been paid by their employer. The state commissioner for environment could not be reached at the time of filing this report while the special assistant (media and publicity) to the Governor, Samuel Aruwan did not respond to calls put to his phone.
