‘No Nigerian artist has impressed me’

Twenty-three year-old interior designer and artist, Zainab Shaibu said no Nigerian artist has so far impressed her because her style is different.
The Kogi-born, who spoke to Arts & Ideas at her first solo exhibition, which held recently at Thought Pyramid Art Centre, Abuja said, “My art is all about heartfelt instances, originality expressing myself with no boundaries and no filter.”
Shaibu, who featured no less than 30 works executed in photography, pencil and acrylic, said that painting is her preferred medium of art because it best expresses her ideas and has more freedom.
The works which were mostly abstract treated various themes including gender, drug abuse and nature.
