Boko Haram sacks Borno village

Boko Haram fighters riding on bicycles sacked Shawa village in Askira/Uba LGA of Borno state in the early hours of Sunday.

A member of the vigilante group, Civilian JTF, Istifanus Apagu, said the militants believed to have a camp in Kalkasa village in Damboa LGA burnt down all the houses in the village whose inhabitants had just returned recently.

Though no dead body has been found, the vigilante member said several villagers were missing.

He called for establishment of a military base in the area so that returnees can feel secured in their homes.
