Jhene Aiko files for divorce from Dot da Genius

Earlier this year, we were all surprised with the news that soulful singer Jhene Aiko was actually married. A lot of hearts broke and even more eyebrows were raised because the star had never hinted at even being in a relationship, let alone tying the knot.
However, that was the case, and hubby Dot da Genius let the cat out of the bag through a congratulatory tweet, but it seems as though the pair have ultimately decided to go their separate ways.
E! News has learned that Aiko filed for divorce from the music producer on Tuesday, citing “irreconcilable differences,” and is asking the judge to deny spousal support for Dot.
What is most interesting, though, is that the documents, which were obtained by E! News, state the former couple’s wedding date as July 26, 2014. It goes on to note that the pair separated in June 2015.
Whether the news of their split shocks you or not, there’s no denying the timing.
Aiko has constantly been rumored to have some sort of romance brewing with rapper Big Sean in recent months, Aside from working together on a joint album Twenty88, the pair have given fans multiple hints that there could be something going on through their lovey-dovey social media posts and constant appearances together.
If that wasn’t enough, the duo took the stage at Los Angeles hip-hop radio station Power 106’s annual concert ‘Powerhouse’ in June and shared a few kisses while performing to the sold-out crowd, which drew loud cheers from the audience.
Neither of the musicians has publicly spoken about the status of their relationship, leaving it up to our wild imaginations to try and figure out what’s going on between them.
