‘More dry ports, truck parks to be commissioned’


The Nigerian Shippers Council (NSC) has said it will facilitate the completion and commissioning of more inland dry ports and truck transit parks this year. 

The Executive Secretary/CEO, NSC, Mr Hassan Bello, made the commitment yesterday at the opening of a management retreat held in Lagos.

“We will ensure the development and commissioning of many of the proposed Inland Dry Ports (IDPs), Truck Transit Parks (TTPs) and Border Information Centres (BIC’s)” he assured.

On the reforms in the ports and ease of doing business, he said “the Presidential Ease of Doing Business initiative will form the foundation of many of our strategies and projects. Our strategy as Ports Economic Regulator and Trade Facilitator will largely rely on the dictates of this initiative.”
