Former Fulani chairman blames politicians for herders, farmers crisis

Former Chairman of Myyeti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Abuja Chapter Muhammadu Dodo Oriji has said politicians are responsible for the herders, farmers crisis in the country.

Speaking to newsmen in Kaduna Monday, Dodo urged the Federal Government to prosecute all those found instigating the  crisis ‎to serve as deterrent to others.

Dodo who is now an elder in the association said Federal government must also call Benue and Taraba States governors to ‎order, saying they have no right to ban other Nigerians from settling in their states saying, "Both Fulanis and farmers have been living in different parts of the country for decades with other Nigerians peacefully."

He said, "Selfish politicians are behind this so called crisis of herders and farmers‎ in the country. I think Federal government needs to prosecute those instigating people to cause trouble.

"Fulani  are peace loving  people, farmers too are peace loving people and both have been living for hundreds of years without serious crisis as we are witnessing today.

"Nobody whether a governor or whoever  has right to ban anybody Nigerians from settling in any state of their choice, particularly fulanis because they are Nigerians too.
