Diamond Bank Plc has disclosed that it has expended N5 billion on its DiamondXtra savings account promo in 10 years in furtherance of its policy of encouraging culture of saving and rewarding customers that bank with it.
The bank also said within the period, 20, 000 customers had benefitted from the promo and that 4,927 customers were going to benefit from the season 10 of the promo.
Speaking yesterday at the unveiling ceremony of DiamondXtra Season 10 in Lagos, the bank’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Uzoma Edozie, explained that part of the focus of the promo was to instill saving culture in Nigerians and that so far it was happening; “We have noticed that more people are saving; we notice people are opening accounts, which was not the tradition. Over the years, we have seen a whole lot of things in the right direction.”
He said the DiamondXtra Savings Account did not serve only serve as a savings account, but that it also gave the customer hope that they might win something while saving.
Edozie added that the last 10 years had been very exciting and that the bank had also added more solutions to the promo as more people would be winning something in the Season 10.
Head, Mass Market of Diamond Bank, Osita Ede, said the bank would be giving out a total of N433m to its customers in Season 10, adding that the bank added education grant, health extra and house advance to the promo.
