Former SGF urges stakeholders to invest in education

Former Secretary to the Federal Government, Alhaji Gidado Idris, has called on parents as well as other stakeholders to commit resources and efforts to providing quality education for children in the country.
Speaking as the Chairman, Board of Trustees, Abuja Capital International College (ACIC) during the graduation ceremony of 35 students from the school yesterday in Abuja, he said the country needs a generation of dedicated and hardworking individuals, who are committed to moving the nation forward economically and otherwise.
He urged Nigerians to be patient as the measures taken by the present administration might bring financial challenges amongst others, but “it is all an attempt to restore our country’s glory”.
Idris noted that ACIC was born out of the need to ensure that students are given quality education, to empower them to solve challenges in the country and the world at large.
Speaking to Daily Trust on Sunday, a parent, Mr Onah Fidelis said the economic crunch in the country has affected every facet of life, such as paying of school fees as well as feeding in the home hence, parents should now rearrange their priorities.
Fidelis said it was inhuman for governors to deny people, who work for the development of their states salaries. On his part, the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State, Yaro Abutu, urged the graduating students to be worthy ambassadors of the school and always ensure they give back to their alma mater.
