Govt raises taskforce against land grabbers

The Lagos State Government yesterday set up a taskforce to check the menace of land grabbers popularly known as Omo-Onile in the state, vowing to tackle their activities with the full deployment of resources and applicable law.
For some time now, the activities of the land grabbers who perpetuate violence in some parts over land, have been a source of worry to the state government.
The state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Adeniji Kazeem, while inaugurating the taskforce at Alausa Secretariat, said the present administration was determined to apply the full weight of the law to permanently address the issue, adding that the havoc and unrest being caused by land grabbers was no longer acceptable.
