Man, 24, remanded for defiling 6-year-old girl

A 24 year-old man, Haruna Tukur, has been remanded in prison custody for defiling a six year-old girl in Kaduna State.
The case, which was brought before Justice Mohammed Tukur Mu’azu Aliyu of the Kaduna State High Court, ordered that the accused be remanded in prison.
Tukur was arraigned in court yesterday for luring the victim into an uncompleted building in Malali, Kaduna North local government area, on the 5th of February, 2016 and had unlawful sex with her, according to the director ‎public prosecution of Kaduna State, Dari Bayero Esq.
When the charges were read to the accused, he pleaded not guilty.
The presiding judge told the accused that he was entitled to a learned counsel for his defence, and adjourned ‎the case till the 4th August, 2016 for hearing. “The accused is however ‎to be remanded in prison custody till the said date,” Justice Aliyu ruled.
