Govt to inaugurate committee against drug abuse

The Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki, said his administration will set up drug control committee to check drug trafficking and drug abuse in the state.

Obaseki said this Tuesday when he received the state command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) led by its Commander, Buba Wakawa, in his office, “Within the next seven days, the State Drug Control Committee will be inaugurated. We are going to provide a rehabilitation centre for the command to reduce the problem of drug abuse. We are worried about the activities of cannabis cultivators and the state is prepared to collaborate with the NDLEA to reduce the drug problem,” he said.
