The senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial district at the National Assembly, Ahmed Salau Ogembe, empowered 1,000 women in his district with over N20 million to enable them start small scale businesses.
Ogembe who was represented by his Senior Legislative aide, Aloysius Omono, at the ceremony in Okene, charged all stakeholders to join hands to create the needed environment for peace.
He said his office was organizing the training and empowerment in conjunction with Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN, “owing to the age long enviable track record of the organization”.
A beneficiary, Rabiat Bello commended the lawmaker for the gesture.
