A non-governmental organization (NGO), Brothers Across Nigeria (BAN), Lagos State Chapter, has held a peace and health walk in Lagos.
The programme, according to the group, was part of its commitment to a Corporate Social Responsibility( CSR) project tagged ‘Alpha Galleon Health/Peace Road Walk’ The project is aimed at educating Nigerians on the need to keep fit and live healthy, as a way to avoid the silent diseases that have reportedly been killing millions of people across the world.
The convener of the road walk, Mr Niran Daniel, told our correspondent that the walk was also staged for Nigerians to embrace peace.
He said the key message of the walk was to urge Nigerians to always stay informed about their health status and also learn how to be patient with one another by embracing peace.
Another member of the group, Mr. Sadiq Osumah, called on other NGOs to take a cue from what BAN did by organising similar programmes to create awareness and ensure that Nigerians are fit, healthier and live longer.
