Declare state”s financial status when you took over- Bafarawa tells Gov. Tambuwal

A former Governor of Sokoto state Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa has advised Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal to stop suffering in secrecy by telling  the people of the state what he inherited from the previous administration.

Reacting to critics of the present administration in the state, he said Tambuwal was not able to perform optimally because he inherited virtually empty treasury.

"When I was handing over to Wamakko I declared the state of our treasury then. I told them I was leaving N12 billion cash although they denied it but some of the government officials including Wamakko’s deputy Governor had later confirmed that I left that amount of money for them, " he stated.

He added:" But when Wamakko was handing over to Tambuwal,  he was silent on the state of the treasury because he knew it was empty at the time but because Tambuwal is a shy type who has unalloyed loyalty to Wamakko decided to keep quiet and has been suffering in managing the state Affairs. "

He however, urged the Governor to end this drama by making it public the amount of money left over to him by Wamakko because people of the state have the right to know*about it.

This he said would help him change their mindset about his government and stop them from accusing him wrongly.
