There are saboteurs in my government –Al-Makura
From Hassan Ibrahim, Lafia
Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa State has accused some senior government officials, including some commissioners, heads of tertiary institutions and directors of boards and parastatals, of sabotaging his administration
The governor who made the assertion yesterday at the Government House in Lafia during an expanded state executive meeting, expressed sadness over the attitude of government officials, saying, “Some government officials are busy working with our adversaries to sabotage this administration. Even files in my office are now subject to espionage. Some of you here with me go around giving different impressions about governance.”
The governor who also addressed the media shortly after the meeting, said part of the resolution is that only workers who have submitted their Bank Verification Numbers (BVN) would be paid the month of March salaries, saying that the biometric data capture of civil servants in the state carried out by Skye Bank was also ready and would be employed in the salary payment. He said the move was to fish out ghost workers and check revenue leakages.
