Missing N70bn: ‘Shema adhered to due process’

The immediate past administration of Governor Ibrahim Shema followed due process in all its financial transactions, the state chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Salisu Majigiri has said.
Majigiriwho was reacting to the recently inaugurated commission of enquiry constituted by the incumbent governor Aminu Masari over alleged missing N70 billion said this is just another exercise in futility.
=According to him, Masari is just embarking on a  ‘diversionary tactics’ as there is no iota of truth in all the allegations raised, saying the only missing money would be various sums withdrawn from the treasury under the watch of the incumbent governor, Aminu Masari.
He listed the alleged withdrawals to include N589 million for last Ramadan feeding, N500 million ‘in the name of security’, and N11.8 billion bailout for pension gratuity.
“It will be of great service to the people of Katsina if the commission can find out the whereabouts of over N100 billion received from the Federation Account by the Masari administration,” Majigiri said.
