Bolt to run in London Anniversary Games
Six-time Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt will run in the London Anniversary Games ahead of his multiple title defence at the Rio Olympics in August.
The Jamaican world record holder in the 100 and 200 metres will participate in the IAAF Diamond League meeting on July 22 at Queen Elizabeth Park in London.
“The London Anniversary Games will be one of my last races before the Olympic Games in Rio. It will be good to return to the Olympic Stadium on the Friday night and get more of the special atmosphere that the fans always produce,” the 29-year-old sprinter said in a statement.
Belgium move friendly to Portugal after attack
Belgium’s friendly against Portugal next week has been switched from Brussels to Leiria in Portugal after Tuesday’s attacks which killed more than 30 people in the Belgian capital.
The match was called off for security reasons before Portugal’s football association offered an alternate venue.
The Belgium team will train at the King Baudouin Stadium – where the match was originally to be staged yesterday.
The game will be played next Tuesday, as initially scheduled.
