The National Biosafety Management Agency has said that it had no responsibility of promoting genetically modified organisms in the country but was created to ensure that the application of the technology posed no harm to humans and the environment.
Mr Rufus Ebegba, NBMA Director General, told Daily Trust yesterday in Abuja that people were mixing up the duties of the agency.
“The National Biotechnology Development Agency is the agency of government charged with the responsibilities of promoting the technology and also explaining the socio-economic benefits of it to the populace.
