Ensuring community health insurance in every community in the country will help address poor infant and maternal health indices, particularly at the grassroots, National President of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA,) Dr. Kayode Obembe, has said.
He stated this at the sidelines of a stakeholders meeting on the 2016 health budget convened by a coalition of eight civil society organizations, Partnership for Advocacy in Child and family Health (PACFaH,) in Abuja.
He said community health insurance was the only way to reach the people at the grassroots.
According to him, if the health of the community improves, the health of the nation improves.
