Kwara poly student killed by suspected cultists

An ND 2 student of Kwara State Polytechnic has been killed by cultists who struck on Monday evening in Ilorin.
The deceased who was suspected to be a member of another rival cult group was attacked, according to sources, in front of the administrative office of the institution, and the development came on a day the state governor Alh. Abdulfatah Ahmed requested the state House of Assembly to pass into law a bill seeking prohibition of secret cults and secret societies.
Daily Trust learnt that the victim of Monday’s attack, whose name the school would not disclose, was shot by assailants who chased him and then fired several gunshots into his head and then ran away.
The security guards on duty were said to have alerted the police who came to the scene of the incident to carry the remains of the student away.
The Registrar of the polytechnic, Pastor Moses Salami confirmed the development, saying that since the incident happened on Monday the men of the Nigerian police and the Directorate of the State Security had been mounting surveillance on the campus to check possible reprisal attacks.
Also, the spokesman of the state police command, Ajayi Okasanmi confirmed the development.
