16-year-old crowned king in Delta

The 16-year-old boy has been crowned the Obi of Ubulu-Uku kingdom in Delta State. He is the son of the late Obi Edward Akaeze Ofulue 111, who was kidnapped and murdered last month.
The teenage king, Chukwuka Noah Akaeze, who was living in Dakar, Senegal, where his mother hails from, returned after his father’s death to take over the throne.
Daily Trust learnt that the late Obi’s wife initially refused to release her son, but had to give in after a delegation was sent to prevail on her.
Our correspondent reports that on his return, the young king was presented to the royal family before he was handed over to the council of chiefs and elders of Ubulu-Uku kingdom at the palace on Friday, who crowned him after undergoing the customary rites.
The young monarch was later presented to dignitaries who were present at the installation ceremony.
