Investigate funds donated to IDPs – MSO urges FG

Muslim Sisters Organization (MSO) has called on the federal government to investigate funds donated to the Internally Displayed Persons by the international communities to ensure proper utilization.

It said this was necessary as it would go a long way in building the confidence of the donors on prudent management of the funds.

This was contained in communique issued at the end of the organization’s 28th National Conference held in Sokoto and read by the National President, Hajiya Amina Sakaba   on Sunday.

It also urged the government to ensure proper rehabilitation of victims of Boko Haram insurgents and to press harder for the release of the remaining Chibok girls and other captives.

However, the organization noted with dismay the marginalization and discrimination against Muslim women in the country, calling on the Muslim and political leaders as well as human right activists to ensure justice is done to Firdaus who was recently denied to be called to the Bar for wearing Hijab and other women victimized for practicing their religion properly.

MSO further lamented the influx of illicit drugs and called on government at all levels to block all outlets through which drugs were brought into the country and to establish rehabilitation centres for victims of illicit drugs.

The group tasked  parents, clerics and teachers to preach  against misuse of mobile phones and negative influence of some of the films people were watching  in their houses which it noted could impact negatively on  children.
