Govt rebuilds demolished roundabouts

The Kogi State Government has commenced rebuilding some of the roundabouts it demolished in the state capital Lokoja about two years ago. 

The Governor Yahaya Bello-led government had shortly on assumption in January 2016 demolished all the roundabouts in the state capital.

Our correspondent however observed that work has commenced in earnest on some of the demolished roundabouts in the past few weeks, particularly those located around Paparanda Square, NTA Lokoja axis and Kogi Hotel axis. 

It was also observed that government has intensified efforts on clearing of blocked drainage channels and general sanitation within the state capital. 

Observers said that the ongoing works are part of government’s preparations for its second anniversary which comes up on January 27.
