2000 persons benefit from Wamakko free eye care programme

About 2000 persons have so far benefited from Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko’s free eye care programme in ten local governments of Sokoto State. 

A statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity,  Bashir Rabe Mani quoted the Director of Administration for Senator Wamakko,  Alhaji Al-Mustapha Abubakar Alkali as saying that,  1,594 patients benefitted from the scheme in the eight local governments of Sokoto East Senatorial  District.

The local government areas  included Sabon Birni,Isa, Goronyo,  Wurno,  Rabah, Gada, Gwadabawa and Illela.

The statement said that,  the remaining  362 patients were treated in Kebbe and Tambuwal local governments in the state. 

It  added that Senator Wamakko who represents Sokoto North Senatorial District, inititated the programme to alleviate the suffering of the patients.

The statement also said that,  the programme which was flagged off on January 4th,2018, in Sabon Birni town,  targets over  3,150 patients in nineteen local governments of the state. 

It recalled that  the first phase of the programme conducted between July and August,  2017, covered over 1,300 patients in the eight local governments that make up the Sokoto North Senatorial District.
