Wolff’s tell-all about the Trump administration came out just on January 5, but even before its release, the book, e-book and audiobook all reached number one on Amazon.com and the Apple iBooks Store.

‘Fire and Fury’ has been so in demand that retailers have struggled to keep it in stock, with Amazon.com warning of delays of two to four weeks for delivery. BookScan, which tracks about 85 per cent of the retail market, only counts an order as a sale once the book has been shipped.

The book hit hard at the Trump administration with quotes about the Trump family and claims about the president’s intelligence and competence. Trump has denied the contents of the book, while some reporters have pointed out factual inaccuracies.

Wolff, an American journalist, essayist and columnist, has said he is confident of everything in the book, even though his sources are denying they spoke to him. He pointed out that he has such interviews on tape, but that he made a deal with them.
