The Edo State Government and Nigeria Institute of Welding have concluded plans for youths and local artisans to undergo proficiency training and re-training to enable them earn certification.
A statement signed by Governor Godwin Obaseki’s spokesperson Crusoe Osagie said the duo had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to that effect, and that the proficiency training was part of the strategy to fulfill government’s promise to create a minimum of 200,000 jobs in the first four years.

“The training of the artisans and technicians will empower them to employ themselves and provide services and manpower to the investors the government is attracting to the state,” the statement said.
