A total of 11 persons have been reportedly killed in fresh skirmishes between farmers and herders in some settlement at the Benue/Nasarawa boundary.
Nasarawa state Police Command has confirmed the killing of only two persons in the skirmishes between farmers, herders in Keana local government area of the state.
The command Public Relation Officer, DSP Idrisu Kennedy, said that the command is not aware of new crisis in boundary communities in Awe local government area but "the only incident we know about is the one in Keana LGA where two persons were killed and one other injured now at Dr Dalhatu Arab Special Hospital in Lafia for medical treatment."
While a youth leader in Awe, Muhammed Kassim, told Daily Trust that 11 people were killed in boundary communities of Awe local government area.
Kassim said, "Two people were killed in Anfana settlement, two other persons in Gidan Wambai in Azara and eight people were killed in Gidan Emon all yesterday in Awe LGA of the state."
