The Yobe State Police Command has successfully foiled a house trespass and theft incident, recovering a stolen tricycle and apprehending two suspects.
The Public Relations officer of the Command, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, stated this to newsmen in Damaturu, the state capital. He said the incident occurred in Tarmuwa local government.
He said the command recorded the success when one Ali Abubakar of Babangida town, Tarmuwa LGA, reported to the ‘A’ Police Station Damaturu that unknown persons had entered his house locked him and his wife in their bedroom, and made away with his tricycle (Napep) TVS model, with registration number YAROTO NO. 083 TMW.
The PPRO said a swift and joint operation by ‘A’ Divisional Police Headquarters, Damaturu and Tarmuwa Division operatives resulted in the arrest of two suspects: Isa Umar, 25, of Sumsuma Village, Damaturu, and Maina Manu, 21, of Alimarami Extension, Damaturu.

According to him, the stolen tricycle was also recovered, and the suspects confessed to the offence, adding that the police are continuing their investigation into the matter for subsequent prosecution.
He added that the Commissioner of Police, CP Garba Ahmed, commended the prompt response of the police operatives and assured the public of the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property.
