The Plateau State Police Command has said it arrested three suspected armed robbers in Laplak village of Pil-Gani District of Langtang LGA of the state.
The command also revealed that it recovered arms and ammunitions from the suspects.
Parading the suspects at the headquarters of the command, the state police commissioner, Emmanuel Adesina, said they have confessed to the crime.
Narrating the incident, the CP said “On 15/12/2024 at about 08:00am, information at our disposal revealed the activities of a gang of suspected hoodlums in possession of illegal firearms operating at Laplak Village, Pil-Gani District, Langtang North LGA.

“While acting on this information, a team of policemen led by the DPO Langtang North Division immediately swung into action and arrested 4 suspects, namely; Lohkur Ponfa, Monday Seljum, Nansak Ndam, and Nanbut Napdong, all of Pil-Gani District, Langtang North LGA.
“Upon conducting an on-the-spot search, one AK47 rifle and a magazine loaded with 13 rounds of live ammunition was recovered from the suspects.
“During our interview, the suspects confessed to having carried out a series of armed robbery operations including the one of 05/08/2024, where they robbed one Chuku Emeka of opposite COCIN RCC Langtang North.
“The suspects will be charged to court upon conclusion of our investigations, “ the commissioner added.
Speaking at the command, one of the suspects, Lohkur Ponfa said, “I was at home when some officers came and told me that they want search the house and I told them to go-ahead. They found an AK47 rifle and ammunition. This is my first time of participating in this kind of criminal activity.”
