Man, 34, charged over bakery rolling wheel theft

The Ekiti State Police Command has arraigned a 34-year-old man, Monday Aonduna, before an Ado-Ekiti chief magistrates’ court for alleged stealing of a bakery rolling wheel.

The prosecutor, Inspector Sodiq Adeniyi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on December 31, 2024, at about 11:30pm at Osekita Area in Iworoko-Ekiti.

Inspector Adeniji, alleged that the defendant stole a bakery rolling wheel valued at N300,000 belonging to one Onitekun Oluwasegun.

The prosecutor said the offence contravenes Section 302(1)(a) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.

Counsel to the defendant, Mr Busuyi Ayorinde, urged the court to grant the defendant bail, promising that he would not jump bail.

The chief magistrate, Dolamu Babalogbon, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case till February 13,  for hearing.
