Housewife accused of killing ‘house help’ re-arraigned

A housewife, Hafsat Surajo, popularly known as Chuchu, facing trial over the killing of her ‘house help’, Nafiu Hafiz, has been re-arraigned before a Kano State High Court.

Chuchu was alleged to have stabbed Hafiz multiple times on the body, leading to his death.

She was accused of seeking the assistance of her husband, Dayyabu Abdullahi, and one Malam Adamu Muhammad, to clean Hafiz’s corpse and prepare it for burial.

At the resumed sitting, the prosecution counsel, Barrister Halima Yahuza Ahmad, asked the court to give them a date to present their witnesses.

In his ruling, Justice Farouk Lawan, granted the request and fixed January 27 and 28 for the witness testimony.
