The police in Ekiti State have charged a 27-year-old man, Alliu Abdullahi, at the Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti over alleged theft.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Sunday Adeniji, told the court that on December 1, at about 2pm at Ilumoba-Ekiti, Alliu Abdullahi did steal N1,984,000 cash from Aliyu Sikirat.
Inspector Adeniji said the offense is punishable under Section 302(1)(a) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State 2021.

Counsel to the defendant, Barrister Femi Olarewaju, urged the court to grant bail to his client, saying he would abide by the bail conditions.

Magistrate D. M. Babalogbon granted bail of N500,000 with one surety and adjourned the case till January 22, for hearing.
