The FCT Emergency Management Department, on Monday, said it saved 3,500 lives from various emergencies through 165 calls in the outgoing 2024 year.
The acting director-general of the agency, Abdulrahman Mohammed, who stated this, said 105 persons were rescued from building collapses with four deaths.
He said the building collapses were recorded at the Prince and Princess Estate, Guzape District, Garki 2, Kubwa and Sabon Lugbe along the Airport Road.
According to him, 75 people were also rescued from various flood disasters with one death at Angwan Hakimi, Orozo, in Abuja Municipal Area Council.

He said during the outgoing year also, 1,230 persons were rescued from various fire incidents with no life lost.
The Ag DG said some of the incidents occurred at Old Karu market, a fitness centre at Gwarinpa, and residential fires.
He added that over 2,000 residents were traumatized during the widely reported earth tremor in Mpape, Katampe, and some parts of Maitama Extension, adding that the agency had submitted a detailed report to the minister on the incident.
The Ag DG also said 89 people were rescued from various road crashes recorded in Abuja during the year under review, adding that three residents died in some of the accidents.
