Bandits have reportedly shot dead two herders while injuring three others and rustled cows at Hayin-Dam bush near Azzara village in Kachia LGA of Kaduna State.
A community leader from the area confirmed the incident to our reporter through the phone last Wednesday, evening, saying that it happened on Tuesday, at about 5:23pm in the area.
He said some of the bandits arrived at the Fulani settlement on motorcycles with AK47 rifles and opened fire on herders at their camp, which he said led to the death of two herders.
He said three herders including a woman sustained bullet injuries during the shooting by the bandits and were taken to a hospital in Katari for treatment.

“It was just this morning when one of the relations who came to my place informed me that some bandits attacked their camp and killed two herders, while three others including a woman sustained inquiries and were taken to the hospital at Katari,” he said.
The community leader disclosed that soldiers at Bishini junction checkpoint were informed and were on the trail of the bandits, saying the remains of two herders had been buried.
The spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Hassan Mansur, was yet to confirm the incident as at the time of filing the report.
