A federal high court in Kano has granted leave to Abdullahi Isa, a nephew to the late AVM Hamza Abdullahi, to appoint a provisional liquidator for Tueton Industries Limited, whose 75 per cent share was held by the late FCT Minister.
The applicant, suing on behalf of the family of the brother of the late AVM, Isa Abdullahi, has joined Tueton Industries Limited, Ibrahim Musa, Fatima Hamza, Abdullahi Hamza, Hamza Hamza and Abubakar Sadiq Hamza as respondents.
The applicant claimed that his father Isa Abdullahi held 25% shareholding of the company with a Registered business address at Hotoro GRA Kano and Mando Road Kaduna and that the late Hamza Abdullahi held 75 per cent of the shares.
Counsel for the applicant, Kabiru Muhammad Nura, averred that since the death of Hamza Abdullahi on 3rd January 2019, his heirs and legal representatives have never appointed a chairman board of directors nor called a meeting of the board and never contacted the family of the plaintiff regarding shareholding of their deceased father in the business.

The applicant contended that both his father and the late Hamza Abdullahi have died as devout Muslims and their shared devolved on their heirs according to Islamic law.
The lawyer asked the court to order the winding up of the company Tueton Industries Limited under the Companies and Allied Matters Act, 2020 as well as appoint a liquidator who shall value its assets and share the same among the heirs of deceased shareholders.
Justice Muhammad Yunusa granted leave to the applicant to advertise the petition in the Daily Trust Newspaper and Kano Chronicle/Pyramid newspaper.
The court also granted leave to the applicant to appoint a provisional liquidator and adjourned the matter to 5th February 2025 for a report of compliance.
