A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, Ibrahim Dan’azumi Gwarzo, has denied the existence of cracks within the fold of the party in the state.
Gwarzo, in an interview with Daily Trust, said the perceived internal wrangling in the party was not true, saying, having camps in the state will only make the party stronger and will not affect their plans.
He said, “To have a group; to have interest; to have what you call houses; there is nothing wrong with that in as much as there will be coordination when it comes to elections or congresses. I think it is because of the size of the party.
“This is a ruling party. This is a party with 19 states and by 2027, the projection is to have 30 states. So, it is because of the size. As much as everybody will play by the rules of the game, I don’t think there is going to be any problem.

“When the Deputy Senate President started this issue of inviting people from other camps, from the NNPP wing to join the APC, he did it in consultation with the national chairman, Dr. Abudullahi Umar Ganduje. It was with his permission. So, there’s nothing wrong with that. I think it is a very good thing. That’s why they are retreating.”
Gwarzo was reacting to the formation of several camps within the party in the state ranging from the Barau Jibrin to Ganduje and Gawuna/Garo among others.
