Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has launched the Adamawa State Education Policy, aimed at achieving quality and inclusive education.
The policy launch was a collaborative effort between the state government, the Malala Fund and the Centre for Advocacy Transparency and Accountability Initiative (CATAI).
Represented by his deputy, Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta, Governor Fintiri emphasized the policy’s significance, stating it embodies the state’s vision for a prosperous Adamawa.
“This policy is not just a document; it’s a strategic roadmap that will guide our efforts in delivering quality education to our children,” he said.
The policy addresses challenges in education, including inadequate infrastructure, low enrollment rates and high dropout rates.
Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Umar Pella, highlighted the policy’s commitment to ensuring no child is left behind, regardless of background.
“Education empowers individuals, strengthens communities and nations,” he said.
Key aspects include expanding access to education for vulnerable populations and promoting academic excellence.
Abubakar Sadiq, Executive Director of CATAI, hailed the policy as a new era for educational excellence in Adamawa, urging stakeholders to ensure its successful implementation, particularly for marginalized groups.
