PTF vows to provide good working environment for police to boost performance

The Nigerian Police Trust Fund(NPF) has reiterated its commitment to provide a conductive working environment to police personnel in the country to enhance their service delivery, for a safer society.

The Executive Secretary of the PTF, Mohammed Seidu disclosed this in his address during the Groundbreaking ceremony of a new modern Divisional Police station in Ekin-Ade community in Ijumu Local Government area (LGA) in Kogi state.

He said the flag off of the project is an attempt to enable police personnel to have a good working environment and secure the environment to boost socio-economic activities in the community and the state in general.

The NPF Boss stressed further that the strategic location of Ekin-Ade community in the state and the country at large put her at advantageous position over others to site the divisional police station project in the area.

“We will be doing our utmost best to give Nigerians a more secured environment to be able to run their day to day activities.

“This would also enable our police officers to have a good working environment in order to effectively ensure the security of lives and property of the people especially at the grassroots

“By our mandate at the Nigerian police trust fund, we shall continue to intervene, complement and supplement the Nigerian Police Force”, he said.

However, he commended the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun for his unwavering support, which he claimed has strengthened the efforts of the agency to provide a better welfare and good working condition for the Nigerian Police in the country.

“This effort will enable the police personnel to perform effectively in protecting the lives and property of the people.

“I admonish the contractor to make sure the project is delivered on time with high quality structure and fully furnished in the next three to four months”, he said.

He added that the new modern police station project would be replicated nationwide across the 36 States of the federation, including FCT to enhance the performance of police personnel in their constitutional assignment.

In his remarks, the Kogi Commissioner of Police, CP Bethrand Onuoha, applauded the federal government for such a project that would take security closer to the people at the grassroots.

He added that the police and other security agencies are committed to put in their best to ensure the state remains safe , particularly during festive seasons.

“A good working and enabling environment will bring out the best in our personnel. On our side, we are going to redouble our efforts to make sure this area is safe and stay secured.

“You can see that this area actually requires more security presence, and when this project is completed it will attract larger personnel to this place”, he said .

In his address, the Olu-Ade of Ekin-Adde, HRM, Oba Anthony Bamigbaiye said the inauguration of the new modern police station in his domain is a dream come true,commending the Police Trust Fund for the gesture that will address socio-economic condition of his subjects in the nearest future.

“Our community with over 25,000 population had only one policeman to secure the entire community.

“The divisional station would foster economic development and security of lives and property of the people in his domain and the entire Ijumu LGA”, said the Royal father.

Meanwhile, the traditional ruler appreciated the Executive Secretary of the Police Trust Fund, an indigene of the community, for facilitating the project to boost the security of lives and property of the people in the community.

However, the Project Contractor, Toyin Abubakar of RASWAS Nig. Ltd, promised to execute the job to specifications and deliver the project as scheduled, by the end of March 2025.
