Some youths have reportedly lynched a suspected motorcycle thief along Gaube village in Kuje Area Council of the FCT.
A resident of Gaube, Solomon Ayuba, said the incident happened on Sunday around 5:23 pm when the suspect snatched a motorcycle in the area.
He said the suspect attacked the cyclist with a hard object while on his way back to Gaube village after the day’s work and escaped with his motorcycle.
According to him, two other residents who were coming from Gaube to Kuje town met the victim lying by the road side in pool of his blood and they quickly alerted people at Gaube.

He said, “After the alert, some residents and vigilantes in Gaube went after the suspect. The suspect missed his way while trying to escape and ran into the mob.”
He said in the process, the mob lynched the suspect and took the motorcycle from him.
He said, “Before the vigilantes arrived the scene, the suspect had already been lynched by the irate mob.”
Ayuba said the injured cyclist had been taken to hospital where he is receiving treatment.
The spokeswoman of the FCT police command, SP Josephine Adeh, said she was not aware of the incident but promised to find out and get back to our reporter.
