Remo Stars Ladies emerged champions of the 2024 Sheroes Cup after a dramatic 6-4 penalty shootout victory over Abia Angels at the FIFA Goal Project in Abuja.
The game began with a spectacular strike from Ekozie Dikachi, who put Abia Angels ahead in the 11th minute. They held onto the slim advantage through the first half, showcasing strong defensive discipline.
However, the second half brought a shift in momentum as Remo Stars Ladies responded to their coach’s tactical adjustments. Just a minute after the restart, Kehinde Deborah equalized, injecting fresh energy into the contest.
Both teams battled fiercely for a winner, but neither could break the deadlock, leading to a decisive penalty shootout. Remo Stars held their nerve to triumph 6-4 and claim the coveted trophy.

Naija Ratels clinched third place after defeating Bayelsa Queens 5-4 on penalties. The match saw early drama as Arit Titus, coming off the bench, gave Bayelsa Queens the lead in the 20th minute. However, Nwachukwu Adana levelled for Naija Ratels, setting the stage for the penalty showdown.
Wemimo Mathew, the head coach of Remo Stars Ladies, was deservedly named best coach. Lucky Mary, the prolific striker from Abia Angels, was honoured as the most valuable player (MVP).
In the race for goals, Ziporah Ziperrekheke of Naija Ratels stood out as the highest goal scorer just as the tournament also recognized defensive excellence, with Adjei Charlotte, the goalkeeper for Remo Stars Ladies, receiving the best goalkeeper award. Finally, the fair play award went to Honey Badgers FC for their exemplary sportsmanship throughout the competition.
