FG selects ABU to pilot TTTP youth vocational training

Ahmadu Bello University, (ABU), Zaria, has been selected as one of the institutions to pilot the implementation of the Technical Teacher Training Programme (TTTP) aimed at engaging youths in vocational training.

This was disclosed by officials of the Federal Ministry of Education, during a visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabiru Bala, in his office in Samaru, Zaria.

TTTP prepares individuals to teach vocational and technical skills to students at various educational levels, including carpentry, mechanical engineering, baking and auto mechanics among others.

The team leader, Mrs Olaniyan Gbemisola, said the officials where at the university for a facility tour and validation exercise in preparation for the programme.

Responding, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabiru Bala, represented by the Provost, College of Medical Sciences, Prof. Mohammed Shehu, while thanking the delegation for finding ABU worthy for the programme, assured the team of the university’s commitment towards the actualisation of the programme.
