A housewife, Mrs Toyeebat AbdulSalam, has approached the Centre Igboro Area Court in Ilorin, Kwara State seeking divorce from her husband, Mr AbdulSalam Toheeb.
Mrs Toyeeba, who resides in the Gaa-Odota area of Ilorin, filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences and constant fights with her husband.
She told the court that the conflicts had persisted since the birth of their first child and had become unbearable.
She said, “Ever since I gave birth to my first child, we always fight almost every day. I have five children, and yet the fight still hasn’t stopped. It has gotten to a point whereby I can’t take it anymore. That’s why I’m filing for divorce.”
When asked by the presiding magistrate, Idris Etsu, whether she wanted to retain custody of the children, the complainant declined.
She requested the court to grant her estranged hubby instead.
The judge, however, adjourned the case to December 13, 2024 due to the absence of the respondent, AbdulSalam Toheeb.
