President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended Professor Ibrahim Gambari’s dedication, expertise and passion for diplomacy, stating that his contributions have left an enduring mark on Nigeria’s global relationships.
Speaking at Gambari’s 80th birthday celebration in Abuja on Sunday, Tinubu, represented by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Muhammed Idris, highlighted the former diplomat’s selfless service and his role as a national icon with significant global influence.
“Professor Gambari is one of the few national icons whose global footprints represent a remarkable asset for Nigeria. Your dedication to diplomacy has inspired generations of diplomats and public servants,” Tinubu said.
The president acknowledged the calibre of dignitaries present at the event, reflecting Gambari’s wide-reaching impact.
