An operative of the Edo State Police Command has paraded 23 suspects over alleged involvement in crimes and criminalities in the state.
Parading the suspects, yesterday in Benin, the Police Commissioner, Umoru Ozigi, said they were arrested for alleged cultism and kidnapping among others in the state.
He said 19 of the suspects were arrested over alleged cult-related activities while four others were arrested over abduction.
Ozigi disclosed that some of the alleged cultists were arrested in Jattu/Ibie, Comprehensive Road in Auchi, Etsako West Local Government Area, while others were arrested at the Benin-Agbor road bypass, Benin-Lagos Expressway, Benin City.

He said with arrest, the police are out to tame the ugly incidences of cult-related killings and criminal activities in the state.
“The suspects are members of Eiye Confraternity, Vikings, Black Axe Confraternity and Buccaneer Confraternity.
He listed items recovered from the suspects to include nine Pump Action guns, three single Barrel guns, two fabricated Beretta pistols, and three fabricated cut-to-size guns.
Others are 82 live cartridges, 14 expended cartridges, one axe, one gun muffler and one Lexus ES 330 Vehicle.
The commissioner said the suspects would be charged in court after investigation.
