No fewer than 160 golfers including former Plateau State Governor, Senator Simon Lalong, and former speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, have registered for the maiden Kwara Governor’s Open Golf Tournament.
The Tournament Director, Barrister Oludare Akanbi, who disclosed this in an interview with newsmen on Thursday in Ilorin, said the tournament which will draw golfers from various clubs across the country will run from Friday November 15 to Sunday November 17.
According to him, the marketers and organisers of the event, Sluqfort Nigeria Limited have put arrangements in top gear to ensure a hitch-free competition that will get golfers competing over 36 holes.
Daily Trust reports that although the Ilọrin Golf Club Course is 18-hole, the development means players could complete two full rounds on the same 18-hole course, with a break in between.
