A midnight fire outbreak has razed two shops at Brigade Yan Katako market in Nassarawa Local Government Area of Kano State.
The incident took place Thursday night around 1:51am.
According to the spokesperson of the state Fire Service, Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, “The command received an emergency call for assistance from ASP U.I. Bushira of Dakata Police Division over an outbreak of fire at Kasuwar Brigade Yan Katako at about 01:51 am.
He said, “The crew on duty from Bompai fire station were mobilized to the scene. On their arrival at about 01:56am, they found two shops in the market engulfed by fire and with effort of our men, they successfully control the situation.
“The second fire started at the same place and two other shops were engulfed by fire.’’
He attributed the cause of the fire to electric fault.
