The Kwara State Government has expressed displeasure over the attitude of some owners of commercial motor parks violating environmental laws during sanitation exercises in the state.
Commissioner for Environment, Hajia Nafisat Musa Buge, disclosed this weekend during the monthly sanitation exercise.
Over 200 environmental offenders across the state were arrested and charged to various mobile courts during the exercise.
According to her, the state would no longer tolerate such actions by the motor parks capable of sabotaging the government’s efforts on the issue.
City & Crime learnt that the affected parks used to load passengers during the period of the weekly environmental sanitation exercise and operate normally while the event lasted.
It was gathered that some offenders are members of the ministry’s environmental task force team.
