Military intercepts stolen vehicle, hands over to owner in Yobe

The North East Joint Task Force (JTF), Operation Hadinkai Sector II, Damaturu, Yobe State has intercepted a stolen vehicle from Kwara State and handed it over to its rightful owner.

The Commander of the sector, Brigadier General Marcel Ejike, who handed over the vehicle to the owner, explained that the vehicle was stolen from Ilorin, Kwara State.

Ejike, represented by Brig. Gen. Ahmed Getso, said the 18-seater Mazda bus with number plate FST 588 XU Lagos, was recovered by soldiers along the Damaturu-Maiduguri Road in Yobe.

“After thorough investigation, the military authorities were able to ascertain the real owner of the vehicle recovered by soldiers along the Damaturu-Maiduguri Road in Yobe,’’ he said. 

Receiving the vehicle, Mr Afolabi Caleb, an official of the NURTW from Kwara State, expressed gratitude to the military for their efforts in recovering his stolen property. 

While commending the efforts of the military for intercepting the vehicle, Caleb said it was parked in front of his house one evening and went missing the following morning.

He emphasised the importance of such efforts in combating crime and ensuring the safety of the citizens.
